Reporting:

One can send scores to as many institutions as one wishes, at no additional cost. There is a limit of 20 score reports per transaction. One may change the score recipients one selects when one registers for the test any time until 10 pm local appointment time on the day before the test. One can have an additional score report sent to oneself for a fee of US$20.

Requirements for registration:

  • The same name (first and last) and date of birth are used as in an official identification document.
  • Valid government-issued ID: Passport and/or Aadhaar Card
  • Original document
  • Physical ID
  • Recent, recognizable photograph
  • Signature
  • Payment via credit/debit cards, PayPal, Electronic check (E-Check) [$US], paper checks and money orders [$US]

Rescheduling:

  • Reschedule the test at least 4 days before the test date.
  • If not requested at least 4 days in advance, the test fee will not be refunded.
  • Provide the appointment number, the exact name used to make the appointment and pay the fee before one registers for a new test appointment.
  • Rescheduling fee: US$30
  • Reschedule via the online registration system or the Regional Registration Centre (RRC) for TOEFL.
  • Rescheduling can’t be done via email.

Cancellation:

Cancellation of the test must be done at least 4 days before the test date. If not requested at least 4 days in advance, the test fee will not be refunded. Cancel via he online registration system or the Regional Registration Centre (RRC) for TOEFL. Cancellations can’t be done via email.
 

Mode:

Internet-based or Paper-based standardized test
Number of tests:
One can take the test as many times as one wishes. However, there must be a gap of 12 days. One cannot take it more than once within those 12 days nor can one schedule another test.
 

Scores:

  • For each of the four test sections, one will receive a band score from 1 to 12.
  • An overall band score is calculated as the average of the four section band scores.
  • The overall band score ranges from 1 to 12 in increments of 0.5, rounded to the nearest whole or half band.
  • MyBest scores: the highest section scores achieved in any test administration within the last two years
  • The overall band score for MyBest scores reflects the average of the highest section scores.
  • In addition, the score report provides information about two foundational skills, Vocabulary Knowledge and Sentence Construction.
  • These foundational skills underlie broad areas of language ability, and information about one’s performance is reported in the form of a percentile value.
  • The percentile indicates that one performed better than that percentage of all those who took the test.
