Academic Requirements:

⦿ A four-year Honours degree in Economics (not Business) with an average of at least B+ (upper second-class) at Dalhousie standards.
⦿ Original transcripts of all previous academic work
⦿ 2 academic letters of reference
⦿ Completion of the MA – Economics Course Requirement Form
⦿ A short personal statement of interest (approximately 1 page)
⦿ Proof of English language proficiency. Requirement waived for applicants from India who have completed a degree at a recognized university where the language of instruction is English.
As a science, economics derives logical conclusions from basic facts and premises. As a social science, economics examines the determinants of human well-being. As J.M. Keynes remarked: “The master-economist must combine talents (and) be mathematicians, historians, statesman and philosopher-in some degree.”
